MEET YOUR BARBER

Jake Bushnell is a life long Huntington Beach local, with over 9 years of professional Barbering experience. After attending grade school, middle school, and high school within a mile of the shop, Jake began a 17 year run of surfing, skateboarding, and touring the country, as a drummer/singer and sometimes even a tour manager with local bands “HB Surround Sound” and “Dirty Heads”. Jake has deep roots in Southern California.

In late 2013 after almost two decades of music and touring, Jake decided to settle down with his new wife Lorna and switched his sights from music to his newly found passion for barbering. Next came 9 months of barber school, followed by 9 years of professional barbering in Los Angeles and Orange County.

With years of experience, a healthy love for the business, and a growing family including a 4 year old boy named Rocky, and 2 mountain lion sized cats named Simon and Link, Jake decided it was time to open up a shop of his very own! In October of 2023, Nice Day Barbershop was born. Nice Day is a second home to Jake where he can catch up with old friends and new while doing what he loves, right where he grew up.

Nice Day Barbershop is a family friendly shop located in the historic Westfair Shopping Center in Huntington Beach, California.

Founded by life long Huntington Beach local and surfer Jake Bushnell, Nice Day offers a comfortable and welcoming vibe along with both traditional and modern barbering services.

With customer satisfaction in mind, Nice Day functions on the appointment model which allows our barbers plenty of time for you to get your services in a relaxing manner without rushing.
